Each Tuesday children create a clay project learning fundamental ceramic techniques.

Their artwork stays at Art House while it slowly dries and is professionally kiln fired.

Whether they're imagining a small creature, a magical world, or a functional object, we help them develop the skills to turn their ideas into ceramic creations.

Meet the Facilitator
Jesi Derfer is a professional oil painter, fine artist, and educator with more than two decades of experience creating and teaching art across a wide range of mediums. As the founder and owner of Art by Jesi, she is dedicated to inspiring creativity through meaningful artistic exploration, helping students of all ages develop both technical skills and confidence in their unique creative voice.
Jesi currently serves as the Middle School Art Director at Costa Verde International School (CVIS), where she designs engaging fine art programs that encourage experimentation, critical thinking, and self-expression. Her work as both an artist and educator reflects a passion for fostering creativity, building community, and making art accessible to everyone.
Good to Know
Please dress your child in clothing that can get messy.
Each visit builds on the previous one, allowing young artists to create new work while finishing earlier pieces through the glazing process.
Finished pieces are typically ready for pickup 2 weeks after glazing.
Advance registration is required as space is limited.

Before You Register
Young Artists Studio is designed for children ages 7–14.
Each Tuesday, children are encouraged to explore their own creative ideas while learning ceramic techniques to bring them to life. With personalized guidance, they build skills, experiment with materials, and grow their confidence as young artists.
Children are welcome to attend as often as they like—there is no ongoing commitment required.
Returning young artists will glaze previously created pieces allowing them to experience the complete ceramic process over time.

Important Information
Registration reserves one child's place for the selected Tuesday.
Space is limited to 17 young artists each week.
Finished ceramic pieces are typically ready for pickup approximately 2 weeks after glazing.
Children should arrive a few minutes before the workshop begins.
Cancellation Policy
We understand that unexpected things come up. If you need to cancel or reschedule your booking, please let us know at least 24 hours in advance.
Cancellations made 24 hours or more in advance: You may reschedule your session for another Tuesday, subject to availability.
Cancellations made less than 24 hours in advance or no-shows: No refunds or rescheduling will be offered.
In case of illness: Please let us know as soon as possible. Exceptions may be considered on a case-by-case basis.
Thank you for helping us plan materials and keep spaces available for other young artists.

Young Artists Studio está diseñado para niños y niñas de 7 a 14 años.
Cada martes, los niños tienen la libertad de explorar sus propias ideas creativas mientras aprenden técnicas de cerámica para hacerlas realidad. Con orientación personalizada, desarrollan habilidades, experimentan con materiales y ganan confianza como pequeños artistas.
Pueden asistir con la frecuencia que deseen, sin necesidad de comprometerse a asistir todas las semanas.
Los pequeños artistas que regresan al estudio podrán esmaltar las piezas que crearon anteriormente, lo que les permite conocer y disfrutar cada etapa del proceso cerámico.
