Each Tuesday children create a clay project inspired by a weekly theme.

Their artwork stays at Art House while it slowly dries and is professionally kiln fired.

Children return to glaze their piece before
its final firing.

Meet the Facilitator
Jesi Derfer is a professional oil painter, fine artist, and educator with more than two decades of experience creating and teaching art across a wide range of mediums. As the founder and owner of Art by Jesi, she is dedicated to inspiring creativity through meaningful artistic exploration, helping students of all ages develop both technical skills and confidence in their unique creative voice.
Jesi currently serves as the Middle School Art Director at Costa Verde International School (CVIS), where she designs engaging fine art programs that encourage experimentation, critical thinking, and self-expression. Her work as both an artist and educator reflects a passion for fostering creativity, building community, and making art accessible to everyone.
Good to Know
• Drop-off is available for children who are comfortable participating independently.
• Please dress your child in clothing that can get messy.
• Each visit builds on the previous one, allowing young artists to create new work while finishing earlier pieces through the glazing process.
• Finished pieces are typically ready for pickup 2 weeks after glazing.
• Advance registration is required as space is limited.

Before You Register
Young Artists Studio is designed for children ages 7–14.
Each Tuesday features a different creative theme inspired by nature, storytelling, and imagination. Children are welcome to attend as often as they like—there is no ongoing commitment required.
Returning young artists will glaze previously created pieces while beginning a new project, allowing them to experience the complete ceramic process over time.

Important Information
Registration reserves one child's place for the selected Tuesday.
Space is limited to 10 young artists each week.
Finished ceramic pieces are typically ready for pickup approximately 2 weeks after glazing.
Children should arrive a few minutes before the workshop begins.

Antes de inscribirse
Young Artists Studio está diseñado para niños y jóvenes de 7 a 14 años.
Cada martes presenta un tema creativo diferente inspirado en la naturaleza, las historias y la imaginación. Pueden asistir con la frecuencia que deseen; no es necesario comprometerse a asistir todas las semanas.
Los jóvenes artistas que regresan esmaltarán las piezas que crearon anteriormente mientras comienzan un nuevo proyecto, lo que les permite experimentar poco a poco todo el proceso de la cerámica.
