Memories en Barro

Photography, clay, and the art of keeping a moment.

A two-part creative workshop bringing together thoughtful photography and handmade ceramic frames

Begin with a new way of seeing. Valeria will guide you through taking more intentional photographs with your phone, exploring light, color, composition, and the small choices that make an image feel compelling and personal. Through practical guidance and creative exploration, you’ll learn to notice beauty in everyday moments and capture it with greater confidence.

With Johanna, you’ll bring that inspiration into clay, creating a ceramic frame by hand. Explore shape, texture, and details as you make a piece that becomes part of the memory it holds.

Across two relaxed mornings at our open-air studio in Sayulita, enjoy time to learn, experiment, and connect over coffee, tea, and a breakfast treat. Come away with a fresh perspective on photography and a handmade frame for a moment worth keeping.

No previous photography or ceramics experience is needed. Just bring your phone and your curiosity.

Valeria Hernández

Valeria Hernández is a photographer and visual storyteller based in Sayulita, specializing in intentional mobile photography and creative exploration. With 1–2 years of teaching experience, her approach moves past automatic settings, guiding participants to slow down, work with natural light and composition, and discover beauty in everyday moments.

Through her work with Memories en Barro, Valeria helps students bridge the gap between digital capture and physical art—teaching them how to frame a meaningful image on their phone so it can live permanently within a handmade ceramic home.
