Every ceramic piece is created through a series of thoughtful stages, and every student progresses at their own pace.
Our Private Wheel Lessons offer personalized one-on-one instruction designed to meet you where you are in your ceramic journey. Whether you're sitting at the wheel for the first time or returning to continue a piece you've already begun, each lesson is tailored to your individual goals and experience.
Depending on your stage in the process, your lesson may include:
Centering and wheel throwing
Form development and refinement
Trimming and finishing techniques
Handle attachment and surface details
Glazing instruction
Individual coaching to build confidence and technical skill
Each lesson lasts two hours and provides dedicated instruction in a calm, inspiring studio environment.
Two hours of private instruction
Clay and use of professional studio equipment
Bisque firing of work created during your lesson, when applicable*
Personalized guidance throughout your creative process
*Please note: Finished ceramic pieces are created over multiple stages. Depending on your progress, additional lessons may include trimming, glazing, and glaze firing before your work is complete.
Creating ceramics is a process that unfolds over time. Clay must dry, be bisque fired, refined, glazed, and glaze fired before a piece is complete. Because of these natural stages, most projects are completed over multiple lessons.
You are welcome to continue with individual lessons at your own pace or choose the Four-Class Private Wheel Series for a guided progression from your first piece to a finished ceramic work.
